April Featured Artist: Ken Church Reception

The Arrowhead Gallery ETC is pleased to present our April Featured Artist, Ken Church. He’ll be displaying a number of additional, new pieces in the gallery throughout the entire month of April.

Ken Church is a full time professional artist from York, England who now lives in Toquerville Utah.

His paintings are in a contemporary impressionist style of bold brush strokes, bright colors and luminous patterns of light and color. After graduating from the York School of Art in England, Church moved to the U.S. to attend Brigham Young University where he received a scholarship to study fine art and painting.

His postgraduate studies continued in drawing and illustration at The Art Center College in California.

Come celebrate a night of art at our Featured Artist Reception in the gallery on Friday, April 5th, from 6 to 8 PM. This event is free and open to the public. You can come meet the artist, view the wonderful art in the gallery, and enjoy delicious refreshments and music.

The Southern Quill Benefit Reading & Silent Auction

The Southern Quill, Dixie State University’s literary arts journal, will hold its 3rd annual Benefit Reading & Silent Auction in the Zion Room (HCC 537) on April 3, 2019. We will be auctioning off over 75 items, including snowmobile rentals, resort stays, gift cards to local restaurants and businesses, merchandise, artwork, and much more. The event will feature two guest authors, Tom C. Hunley, a poet and professor at Western Kentucky University. His latest poetry collections are HERE LIES (Stephen F. Austin State University Press 2018) and THE STATE THAT SPRINGFIELD IS IN (Split Lip Press 2016). His work was also featured on The Writer’s Almanac. Dorothy Allred Solomon is a local memoirist and DSU faculty member. She is the author of several books, including Predators, Prey, and Other Kinfolk: Growing Up in Polygamy (W. W. Norton 2003) and Daughter of the Saints: Growing Up In Polygamy (W. W Norton 2004). She has appeared on various television programs to discuss her work, including The Oprah Winfrey Show, the Today Show, and Larry King Live. The auction is free and open to the public.
