‘George Street Fest’ Hits St George | Monthly on the First Friday
George Streetfest is here, and it’s here in a big way!
With the inaugural event that was held in June, nearly 3,000 locals and visitors came out to celebrate in the streets of St George! Streetfest happens the first friday of each month and provides an awesome opportunity to join friends and family in historic downtown St George. Main street is closed off for the festivities and plays host to food vendors, artists, live music, and a Jazz garden!
From the organizers-
The ‘George Streetfest on Main’ event is St George Utah’s new first Friday celebration! The purpose of this event is to promote St. George’s downtown historic district, and to celebrate the best of southern Utah with all of you! The goal of the event is to establish a rich sense of community in the heart of the City, to celebrate local artists, and to provide a clean and safe nightlife entertainment option for local residents and tourists. The event features a signature street concert, buskers, and goods sold by local artists, farmers and merchants. Engagement components include the Passport to the City program, George Jr. Treasure Hunt for Kids, and the George Jazz Garden at Ancestor Square.
So if you are looking for things to do in the area, the streetfest offers great family fun in a wonderful historic St George enviroment. The next Streetfest will be held on July 3rd 2015 (the day before the city’s massive Independance day celebration – stay around for that one too!) make sure you don’t miss out!
If you won’t be in town for this amazing event, you can check out all the other things to do in the area. There are amazing restaurants in St George, outdoor adventure, and hotels for every type of visitor. Also be sure to check out Zion national Park and Snow Canyon State Park while in town.
