The event celebrates the role art has played in the creation and history of the park by hosting 24 fine landscape artists for a week of painting and teaching in the park. Invited artists paint plein air throughout the week as park visitors watch and interact. Daily painting demonstrations and evening lectures, as well as a paint-out and auction on Saturday, cap the week of celebration. More than 150 paintings go on sale at the Zion Human History Museum on Saturday and Sunday, November 11 and 12. Event proceeds benefit Zion National Park. If you can only visit the park only once this year, this is the ideal time to come.
As the official non-profit partner of Zion National Park, event proceeds benefit art education and Zion National Park Youth Education Initiatives. For more information about the event, visit http://zionpark.org/zion-plein-air-artists-selected-for-2016-centennial-edition/ or call 435-772-3264.
