Redfordäó»s character, Norman äóìSonnyäó Steele is a former champion rodeo performer who decided to cash in and become a spokesman for a breakfast cereal company. Sonny needs to simply ride a thoroughbred racehorse named Rising Star to fulfill his obligations to the corporation he represents. When Sonny finds out that the $12 million horse he is riding is injured and has been drugged, he decides to run off with the horse to escape the situation and set it free in a remote canyon so that it may roam with a herd of wild horses.
