Plein Air Watercolor Painting

October 14, 2017 @ 12:00 pm

- Free

How do artists work? Many watercolor landscape artists paint inside a studio, but plein air artists paint landscapes outside. En plein air means äóìin the open airäó in French. The Utah Museum of Fine Arts is working with the Silver Reef Museum in Leeds to host a free family day learning about how plein air artists work. Come at your leisure to see plein air artists working, and then try your own hand at watercolor painting – getting inspiration from the landscape outside. Free family activity conducted by the Education Curators from the Utah Museum of Fine Art between 1:00-3:00pm. See Dixie Watercolor Society plein air artists at work from 12:00-4:00pm. Event is free but registration is appreciated – sign up at http://tinyurl.com/WashingtonCountyWorks

This event is part of Washington County Works!, a county-wide celebration of work that accompanies the Smithsonian The Way We Worked exhibition, stopping in Leeds from September 16 to November 4, 2017 at the Silver Reef Museum.
