The Zion National Park Plein Air Art Invitational celebrates the role art has played in the creation and history of the park by hosting 24 of the finest landscape artists. During the first full week of November, park visitors have many unique opportunities to watch and interact with great artists at work and attend daily painting demonstrations and evening lectures as well as a paint-out and auction on Saturday which cap the week of celebration. More than 150 paintings go on sale at the Zion Human History Museum on Saturday and Sunday, November 11 and 12, 2017.
Event proceeds go to the Zion National Park Foundation to support important projects in the park including the successful Zion Youth Education Initiative which creates opportunities to bring school children into the park and have a potentially life-changing educational experience. If you can only visit the park once this year, this is the ideal time to come.
Lyman Hafen, Executive Director of the Zion National Park Foundation, said, äóìArt has a very firm place in the history of Zion Canyon and in the story that led to it becoming a National Park. Today, artists, donors, sponsors and visitors continue that rich tradition, preserving the wonder that is Zion National Park for future generations, and enhancing the experience of everyone who comes here.äó
Event proceeds benefit youth education and art programs in Zion National Park.
