25 Hours in Frog Hollow
Sunday, November 05, 2017
25 Hours in Frog Hollow is one of the premier ultra-endurance mountain bike events in the country. Nearly 500 riders from around the world will compete in the annual race proclaimed “the longest one-day race in the world.” The race takes place on the weekend daylight savings time ends and the clock “falls-back” giving riders an extra hour to actually complete a full day. Solo and relay team riders match skills and stamina against nearly 13 miles of desert trail and the clock with 25 hours to complete as many laps as possible. Spectators are welcome.Frog Hollow’s course is as beautiful as it is physically grueling. The course snakes through double-track ascents, fun and flowy single-track and what riders have called a “wretched rock garden” that may leave you cursing. It’s just one section of more than 250 miles of world-class mountain bike trails in the St. George area. Race promoter Cimarron Chacon says Frog Hollow is a 25-hour party with costumed riders, continuous music, cozy fire pits and lively teams of ultra-endurance fanatics. “It’s another fantastic event that showcases the incredible diversity of mountain bike adventure in the area,” she said.
